Song keeps going even without steps

So I finish a simfile and I go play it. I get to the last step, and the song won't end automatically even after the steps themselves end. The song keeps playing for about 7 seconds until the song finishes and the message "Song Cleared" shows up. Anyone know how to fix this?

I had that heppen to me once too, I think what I did to fix it was go into the options menu, go to the second last option that says "Reload Songs/Courses" and press that. I think that's what fixed the problem for me, but im not completely sure though.

Do you have any other difficulties where it goes up to that point? Including doubles, or solo?

It probably will do that no matter what you do.

You could use Audacity to cut the last few seconds off the song so it will end sooner.

Mmm, no, just Challenge. I believe it to be a problem with my Stepmania since it's got some weird bugs. For example, the 'My Creations' folder wouldn't show up anywhere on my Hard Drive yet it stayed on Stepmania itself.. it's weird. Maybe SM has a problem with Vista? Oh, well, I'll just have to live with it, thanks again everyone.

I had to learn this the hard way: No matter what chart you play in, Stepmania starts from the very earliest any of the charts kicks off of, and ends only after all charts under that simfile have stopped. That includes all difficulties for singles, doubles, couples, solo and PIU.

I had this happen to me with a file that had only one difficulty.

I fixed it by deleting the last couple of lines in the dwi.
