Alright, I got myself some nice metal pads. I have a USB PS2 converter so I can hook one of them up to the computer. I can set them up just fine in Stepmania, and hit the arrows and everything. However, it scrolls when I hit the arrows. It's pretty hard to hit anything like that, and freeze arrows? N.G. all the time. Is there any way to set it in Stepmania so it won't scroll? The problem is not in the pads, but the adapter. I had the same problem with soft pads.
As far as DWI is concerned, it won't register the udlr arrows in the setup part. It will only register x o tri squ.
Adapter is a KiKy PS2 USB adapter. Pretty sure.
