Pad use on stepmania

How do I use a ddr pad on stepmania that's hooked up through the usb port?

Is it done via PS2 controller to USB adapter? Or some way similar?

In either case, when I had a pad and played StepMania with it, all I did was go to Options > Key Config. You go to each of the keys and change it to what you want it, via stepping on the pad. Easy, though I suck at explanations.

i did that, but it inly registered the right and down arrows. It might be a faulty adapter, although I hope not.

btw the adapter goes on the little x-box port where the end detaches.

EDIT: Talked to tech support or whatever and they are sending a control box and the left and up arrows (the arrows that weren't responding).

So, lock this if it even matters.
