    Do I Suck?

    I just got DWI today.

    I am a complete noob to DDR, Stepmania, and this. The only game I've played before sorta like it is FFR, which I think I'm pretty good at.

    Just to get things started, I download the Not My Battle song, and put it on Light and 0 difficulty just to be safe on my first try at the game. I catch the beat, the arrows come up, and BAM! Im getting Boos and Misses and all this crap! Ive tried it, like, 5 times now and I havent seen much progress. Now Im not stranger to hearing "Stepfile is offbeat," so is the Not My Battle stepfile that bad, or am I the worst DWI player ever?

    no, you dont suck. When i started playing SM. I downloaded Pink Panther from arch0wls site. and i couldnt even beat that. I put sm off for a month and just started playing ffr again. I than got decent on ffr and could start beating songs such as uber rave. Than i thought about stepmania again and than i gave that another shot. I tried the pink panther again and i got a B on it. Now i can AA most heavy songs and A and B the rest. So just keep practicing

      Thanks, I'll keep trying.

      ::Edit::

      While Im at it, I'll ask a few more noob questions.

      1. Can someone link me to some good stepfile sites? Ive got a few mp3s I'd like to put with some stepfiles.

      2. ....Well I'll be, I don't have anymore questions. That makes life easier.

          is it possible I lag in DWI? I have an uber machine that could run like 16 instances of FFR without lag, but DWI seems to, I get constant boos and misses yet I hit the keys correctly. Perhaps in DWI you need perfects for anything to register, not liek FFR were about 50% of the arrow can be lined up and count. DWI sucks.

            You need to time better in SM and DWI than in FFR. It takes some time to get used to if u have never played DWI or SM.

              Hey omega if you need good stepfile sites, go to bemanistyle.com's forums
              Look under Dance Dance Revolution Simulation, and look for the thread "Simfiles Websites"
              Lots of good sites are there

                If you have a wireless keyboard, that could add latency. I know on my other computer with a wireless keyboard the keystrokes would lag and I'd get bad scores.

                  There is a huge difference for timing (at least it really seems like it to me). I'll play ffr for a long time, switch to stepmania, and get a ton of greats. It's a lot easier to pass a song on FFR than SM
