I am useing Xstep o create stepfiles,does it have to have DWI? or can it have stepmainia?

Don't use XStep. Don't use DWI. Use Stepmania Editor. -
Is the SM editor included with SM or do you have to download it seperatly?

it's part of SM
just go to "edit/sync songs" in the main menu. It automatically creates both .SM and .DWI files when you save, so it's not like you can't use steps made in the SM editor on DWIReach: there was this bee. i hate bee\'s...i tryed to kill it, but then it didn\'t die and it started making weird noises so i was like oh (#$% hes gonna sting me. i started running but i triped over some rock and rolled down a hill into the river.Comment

Just use SM XD
its 10x better than dwi anyway. you won't have to use notepad, editor is the best for making perfectly synced stepfiles...and yea, sm is just more accurate and better overall.
