        Re: SM themes

Here's the funny thing. If you delete the original theme, then when you try to open SM then it tries to load the original theme, which you've deleted. So of course it would be ****ed up. You need to keep the original one, open SM, go to options, then pick your new theme. Then once it has loaded you can delete the original one if you want.

But yeah, because you deleted it before changing your theme in options, you ****ed up your SM. Re-install it.

I suggest that you never, under any circumstances, delete your default theme. The reason is that other themes look into the default one for any parts that aren't present.

Keep your default, just to be safe.

if your default is crappy, then you can download another one and rename it to default. That's what I did ! And it worked !

my 3rd mix theme is now default.

Just keep the original default, so there would be something to rely on...

(Btw, what's the point of renaming a theme to 'default' even though it isn't?)

My guess is that he wants the program to look to THAT theme for any parts that are missing, as opposed to the standard "default"

making a long story short, just don't touch the default folder.

Firstly, default takes up a hell of a lot of space, and my sm folder is already 2.6GB in size. Second, i never use that theme, I hate it so much. As you already know, my favorite theme is third mix. Thirdly, If you delete default, then the missing "holes" (missing graphics, sounds etc.) cannot be filled and stepmania will crash every time you load it.
