Clearing Cache?

Ths is about SM, not the internet cache.

Should I clear my cache folder? Will it harm anything? I have no clue when it comes to this kind of stuff. v.v
And it takes up a bit of space. (This may seem like a dumb question, but I have no clue whatsoever.)

Cache takes up memory for the sake of speed. It will not hurt at all to delete it.

It might hurt to delete the folders, but I doubt it.

I meant the contents, not the folder itself.

And so after I delete the contents in the cache folder, will it make new ones?

I THINK it will also take away ur tolkens (which u can get back) but having a full cache can mess ur internet up until u empty it.

Oh, I meant on StepMania. The folder called "Cache." You misunderstood my question.

They don't delete anything and you will keep your tokens, but the page load-up can be slow at first. Depends on what you prefer.

EDIT: Stepmania... I don't know about that one. ^^'

dont get rid of cookies if your like me and have random passwords that you would never be able to remember, or really good line rider courses.

Yes it will make new cache. I don't think there is a way to turn it off, SM will probably go a lot slower if you get rid of the cache.

Also why get rid of it? Does it really take that much space?

No, if I were you I wouldn't delete them. It looks like they hold some songs and banners. Or some small part of songs and banners. But if they put it in there I don't know why they would need you to delete it.

No. They can be deleted. I just tested.

True, they hold banner and song information, but SM automatically creates news ones. Thus, it does not slow StepMania down. All it does is replace the current information and gets rid of old, useless ones.

I have just tried it. Trust me, there are no drawbacks. It's perfectly safe.

Cache is the temporary memory. It builds up over time like plaque. The amount of cache space is necessary to your stepmania moving fast.
