Help!- SM simfile creation

I play SM casually, and want to start making my own simfiles.
I've followed all the instructions, and got my music into the editor. But when I press Ctrl+P to play it, it does not run smoothly. The music is messed up, and the moves jump rather than flowing. How do I fix this?

That's weird. Does it play normally outside of the editor? Do you have the song rate on something other than 1.0x? Also is the song file an uncommon type (like flac)?

It kind of sounds like you have haste on, which is a brand new mod in 4.0. That also means your song rate isn't 1.0.

That or maybe your computer is lagging a bit or you have a buggy version of SM. Maybe try restarting your computer?

I don't know how to turn haste off...or whether it's even on. The files are fine when I play them using iTunes, and they are mp3 files. But it's not just the music, the pieces don't move smoothly either.

While in the editor: esc->song options

Or your computer is a really crappy computer.

Wasn't that. And my laptop is fine, runs the songs in SM fine, just not the editor. Got XP, only a year old.
