metrics and stuff

I used to play on a old beta of SM 4.0, but when formatting my pc, all I could find was the newer versions which (IMO) suck balls.
I therefore went back to 3.95 (build 372, from 06-19-2005) which I had on a dvd with random apps, and tried to find a nice skin from ddrgeek addon's.
However, it seems that most of the skins are either built for another version of 3.xx, or just broken in some way.
I wanted to get the AOI project skin, but ended up with alot of copy/paste from another metrics-file just to get it to work, and it still looks broken...
Grabbed maybe top10 most downloaded skins, only one that worked was foonmix :/
Getting errors like:
"ScreenEvaluationStage-Class has a invalid value"
"ScreenExit-AllowOperatorMenuButton has calls to a unknown function"
+ a whole lot of missing graphics
Could someone point me to either a version of 3.xx that actually works with the skins, or (if someone else uses a skin they think is better) just upload the entire SM folder (without songs ofcourse) somewhere?
