my down arrow doesnt work. I have to reset my keymap; and I need wasd. I cant scroll down! what do I do?

you can reset your keymaps to the default by deleting your keymaps.ini

or if your down button doesn't work at all (which may be the case) then just copy this into the second line of keymaps.ini:
0-0=0-97,0-47,0-166

This is what I did:
Save your data, and delete stepmania. redownload it, wedge your data back in the folder, and you're golden.

nono you got it wrong, i want my keymaps from default. also help with this:

"NoteSkins/dance/cel/../default/_down tap note meshes.txt": No such file or directory

If you messed with that file, then just redownload cel and replace it.

If not you probably have a buggy version of Stepmania.

There's a pretty good preset version of SM in here.

You'll need to do very little customizing to get most of what you want.
