    newest stepmania

    whats the newest stepmania version? im asking because when ever i click on a song to see if it has the dwi and mp3 file but when i click it it says access denied. whats going on??

      its 4.0 CVS and a bunch of numbers after it, i suggest sticking with 3.9, and the note skin for 4.0 CVS sucks and its hard to find a good skin for it. its so bad u cant read it trust me. i tried to find the older version of 4.0 which is better but its gone

          can i play any song on 3.9 because I can play a couple of songs and some i can not. when i try to look at some through my computer it says access denied. and whats cvs?

              when 4.0 first came out the theme for the first release was the best of all 4.0 cvs releases

                  The only thing I'm not sure about is simfiles with rolls, however people hardly use them since 3.9 is much more used and stable.

                  Also I've heard that negative bpms don't work properly in 4.0, which is more common than rolls (if you play keyboard at least).

                          Yea I agree. Get either oldest 4.0 or stay with 3.9 (3.9 would be best choice)

                              Brian, the latest version of Stepmania is here: Stepmania.com
                              The link for the latest 4.0 build is a little way down the page. Read stuff carefully before you download. I guess you should also check back occasionally in case it's updated again.




                              Also, there are some simfiles that are corrupted. If that's the case, I don't think there's anything you can do, unless you can talk to the simartist and ask them to reupload it.

                                  someone asked earlier what cvs is... im not sure what it stands for but i know is means that it was made customly by a person... so that explains as to why there are sometimes errors in the game... but theres more to it than that but its hard to explain... cause every program is made by a person but this is made w/o a certain program... thats the best i can explain it as.
