    Screen Cuts Off A Bit...

I recently got a plug and play HP L1506 Flat Panel monitor to ditch my ancient CRT from 1997. XD Stepmania worked fine.

I just got WindowBlinds to make my computer look like totally 1337 Vista without paying lots o' d0ll0rz.

Now, the screen is a little off when I run Stepmania. The screen is too far down and I can't see my score. And DOSBox is far worse, the screen is 5 inches down and to the right, making apps impossible to use.

So is there a way to fix this?

Well I still have the once-inch black line , now at the bottom, but at least now I can see the whole screen, except squished a little bit.

For some reason, when I was adjusting the screen, if I tried to go past that black line, it would just disappear behind it.

      Thanks anyway. :P

You can just play Windowed, probably.

The problem is probably that you haven't adjusted your monitor for the fullscreen resolution that Stepmania plays on. 800x600 or whatever it is. If you adjust it while it's in that mode, it'll keep the settings for that mode separate from the settings for your normal resolution.

Hopefully. Some monitors don't do this. I don't have an LCD yet because I'm fine with CRTs so I can't verify. My CRT has this memory setting for screen resolution though, so it's possible.

My old CRT did that too. It was good with memory like that but the screen was fuzzing out. It was 10 years old ^^.

No I'm not getting a new monitor. I just paid $120 for this one, the money-back guarantee is already up, and, if I change my Windows XP theme back to the original blue, instead of my modified Vista-like version, it fixes. BUT I LIKES IT SOOO TEH MUCH.

And I found out it also does it to my boot screen. 0.0

So ANY aplication running in 800x600 does that. Except Wolfenstein 3D. And I don't know why.

EDIT: Btw, how do you make SM windowed??

              It's in the Graphics options.

I haven't played Stepmania for like two years, so I don't know if they've changed that or not.
