Help with SM

I looked and swear to god I couldn't find it. Don't get mad at me if there is a thread for this, just gimme a link.

I know how to get the songs to play from stepmania.com. But when I download a song from FFR(I downloaded MSWGO), how do I get it onto SM?

I use Winrar for this and I just drag the file into a folder.

2: unzip sim
3: A full proof guide, so I don't have to type anymore

Yo Pheonnix long time no see pal ^_^; ya the link Fantisticone gave should give everything but incase that one is too hard for you Ill give a quick discription here

1. download file (file comes in a .zip state think of it as a letter in an envelope)
2. EXTRACT the .zip file Winrar is a good program that extracts zips (think of it as opening the envelope) when you extract it make sure you extract it into the SONGS folder in your Stepmania folder which should be in either PROGRAM FILES or MY DOCUMENTS depends which one you have your stepmania things in.
3. PLAY IT (... YAY!)

Hm, sorry again, but now I wanna know how people have like different looking backgrounds for SM. Like some of them look really spacey and tech looking. But I just have a standard looking SM, how do I get a new one, and what's a good one?

Whaddaya mean by background? Do you mean you want a new Stepmania theme? If so, here's links to some places where you can download them:
