3+ Arrow Problem.

While playing SM, there will occasionally be a moment that requires me to press 3 or more arrows. It'd be no problem at all, if my computer actually allowed me to do this. When I do try to press 3 arrows, it doesn't register the pressing and makes that ungodly beeping noise.

Does anyone know how to take care of this?

Turn off num lock. My old keyboard did this and num lock for whatever reason caused it.

My laptop has the same problem. I just changed the keys I use to 'a', 's' on the main key pad, and the up and right arrow keys. Kinda messed up but it allows me to hit 3 or 4 arrows at once

Go to Stepmania====>Config Key/Joy mapping====>Switch the keys from there, or turn hands off when you play any song.

Num Lock is already off.

Might it help if I post what type of keyboard this is?

edit: It might help if I was playing the actual Sim and not some watered down version.

Some keyboards have hardware restrictions that don't let the user press more than x number of keys at the same time, or certain combinations. Do what Fantasticone said.

Indeed. My keyboard suffers from this problem as well. I got past it by using a ZX23 config instead of the arrow keys.

An easy thing to do is go to Test Input in options. That lets you test your keys until you can find a combination that allows you to hold 3-4 keys. If you can't find a combination, then you'll need a new keyboard.

I dont know why some computers dont let you do this! Whats next? not being able to play quasar because they keys cant handle the speed? rofl

If you can't help or you don't share my problem, don't post.

I don't know. I've been playing the same way ever since I found FFR, and I'm not easy to adjusting. The weight of my hand on my keyboard and the absence of keys around it made my experience perfect.......

I'll see what I can do with the pad changes.

just switch keyboards instead of whining to people you dont even know on the internet. or if you dont want to do that, atleast get used to a different layout like spread, index, etc.

1) I'm sticking to my style.
2) What the **** does not knowing them have to know with anything?
