    Need Mac StepMania help

Okay, so I downloaded the classic songs of DDR versions 1-8 on FileFront, but they came in this weird .smzip file type and when I try to open it, it opens in excel. I renamed it .zip so the Stuffit Expander would open it, but at the very end it says operation not permitted. Help me out? I have StepMania 3.9 and I'm using a MacBook. I'm sorry if this has been said before, but it's not in the last five pages.

Okay, first of all, you SHOULDN'T HAVE changed the extension. Just CHANGING it to a .zip is completely done via another program... that more than likely doesn't exist. But seriously, you SHOULD'VE been able to open the .smzip normally, as it is recognized by StepMania, and is, in fact, opened, and unzipped, by StepMania.

Re-download the simfiles, and then see if you can't open it by double-clicking it. If it doesn't unzip, and does the same thing as you said in your post, then I really don't have much more help after that. It might be able to be unzipped if you opened the StepMania Tools Menu, labled tools, inside the Program folder, and then used the Edit Installations option. But other than that, I'm pretty much stumped.

Of course, you're using a Mac, which i'm very un-familiar of, so, um, meh.

      Sticky this if you choose.

      For Mac:
.swzip files can be put straight into Applications\Stepmania\Packages and all will be good.
