Making a stepfile for FFR. How?

How, if at all possible, can I submit a stepfile to be eligable for SOTW?
If possible, what exactly do I submit? a .sm file? Or .dwi, or what?
I know how to make it, but unsure what FFR runs on.

Also, what I'm considering making would merely be a V2 of a song already in the game (It's an "Easy" song, I'm planning on stepping around "Very Challenging" or so).
For synching and such, would be a lot easier if I had the mp3 and bpm, however it has been said that all FFR songs stay on FFR.

First off, am I able to submit such a song?
And lastly, how would I go about getting the mp3 and/or bpm?
They say there's a sun in the sky...

I would expect that you can make a version 2 for a song since theres Stay With Me V2 and Uber Rave V2. I think SOTW is just the latest song that is being submitted to FFR and anyone can do it. As for the mp3, use a converter. Go to download.com an search music converter. For the bpm, google WINbpm. If you dont want a hassle, Id suggest submitting both .dwi and .sm because I dont know which they accept. Hope this helps.

You can't submit a V2 yet (there's a couple I want to do), because the purchased section is glitched all to hell. Once that gets fixed for 3rd Style you should be able to.

Pretty much, as long as you send the file that SM saves for you, you'll be okay. You only need to send the .dwi though.

Go to here or here to find music to step.

EDIT: Missed where you asked about BPM... you can either download WinBPM (Google it) or you can find it manually. There are a couple ways to do this, you can either (a) use a stopwatch and time a section of the song, then (60)*(number of BEATS you timed)/(time)=BPM or you can (b) use audio editing software to find the exact time for 1 beat and then use 60/time.
