    DDR pads and StepMania?

I'm too lazy to see if there's a post on this subject and whatnot.
Can you use a DDR pad with StepMania?
Any information on if/if not or how to use it will be much appreciated.

Yes you can, I use my metal pad on stepmania all the time. First off you obviously need to make sure your pad has a USB connection available (usually pads that come witha control box will have this), next just load up stepmania, then go to config keys and then obviously press up on your pad for up, down for down etc, if you've done it right it should say somethin like auto joystick 1 for up or something, that's how mine works and it's just fine.
    Time to start indexing again.

I have a CF metal pad, so i was was basicly read to play SM right away. However, if you have a soft pad, or pads that dont come equiped with a USB connection, you can do 1 of 2 things. You can either buy a USB converter, which you plug the at pad into, and the converter into your comp; or, according to my friend, if you have a spare USB cable and a pad you dont mind "experiementing" on. Supposedly if you clip of the end of the USB cable and the end of your pads cable and wire them together, you can use it on your computer. I have seen this done with PS2 controllers and Xbox controllers before, so i wouldnt know why this wouldnt work. However, if you arent straped for cash, buying the converter would be your best bet.
