everytime i make a song its either got a M next to or a L next to it when i select it on any difficulty. how can i get it to not do that so i can play my songs more than once without having to go back to the main menu?

M = marathon, meaning the song is over 5 minutes long and requires three stages to play.
L = long version, meaning the song is over two and a half minutes long and requires two stages to play.
You probably have the default stage setting on, meaning your game ends after three stages. Playing one Marathon will essentially account for all three stages.
Go into the Options Menu on the Start Screen and go into Coin Options. Either increase the number of stages per play or enable Event Mode (which means you can play as many songs as you want without getting a Game Over.)
