laggy arrows?

it's this way... whenever i play stepmania and press down an arrow, this small millisecond lag comes.. it's not noticable when playing easier songs with just 8/16 beats but when it comes up to 24/32 beats it converts into a huge lag spike.. sometimes even kicks the song 10 seconds forward

anyone else got this problem? please help me!

Check the FAQ. You'll find lots of answers that will answer alot of your questions. *ahem* and I quote, from the FAQ...

StepMania freezes for several seconds randomly as I play.

You probably have applications running in the background that are using a lot of system resources. Follow the instructions here to close background apps and try to narrow down the source of the problem.
