Stepmania's Timing window

Ok I've heard a lot about this.

I've heard people say playing the pad on SM will make you worse PA wise at DDR since the timing window is so large.

What exactly is the difference between DDR's timing window (on actual machines) and SM's?

I think DDR's timing is equivalent to J5 or J6 on SM.. not sure the exact numbers.

I guess it all depends on who's playing SM with a pad, which speed they use, and which judge timing they use.

So your PA will be a bit better on DDR.

Is DDR's Perfect J5/6 SM Marvelous?

Or DDR's Perfect J5/6 SM Perfect?
