    Found an interesting setup..

On SM I play spread and use the Q,W,num8,num9 keys (yea I know but this way I can relax my arms on the arm rest of my chair.

But recently I added A,S,num5,num6 to the mix so I could do jacks faster by maping them like so:

    left: Q and num5
    down: W and num6
    up: num8 and A
    right num9 and S

I dunno if anyone else does this but there are some advantages. Plus this one song has what I call a "double freeze" where they didn't end the freeze before starting another one on the same arrow. So now I can get those without worrying about missing one.

super-smashman wins. Seriosly, that's exactly what I was going to say. As easy as that method is, it's like bar rape on a Standard song. Your fingers shall suffer, that is all.
You should value your education more than this crap of Flash Flash bull.

Well I don't see how it is cheating. It can be done so why not? Some songs are too fast to do it normally, so should songs that like exist if they are impossible? Yea everyone likes a challenge but I like challenges that can be overcome not ones that can't be touched.

The whole point of playing Stepmania on a keyboard as opposed to just playing DDR is that you have these four keys, and you can press them any way you want (index, 4-finger, one-hand, etc.) to hit the four arrows instead of using a pad. Now, when you use a double setup, there are now two keys for each arrow - that's not the way the game was intended to be played.

The whole point of jacks is that the person who created the stepfile wanted you to hit the same key over and over again. When you use a double setup you're basically rewriting the jacks as trills, and that isn't the way the simfile maker intended it.

If you want to play with eight keys, play doubles. Or 7key Beatmania with scratch.
            hehe
