Are you trying to get the game to display Japanese Kanji?

It converts automatically for me. Try typing the japanese name in ordinary letters and see if it does the same for you.

edit: I edited the artist and songnametext in the .sm-file, that's how I got it to work. I doubt it works if you type it in the sync editor.

SM still fixes it automatically if you type in the romaji in the .sm-file
