Can someone please tell me what 'index' and 'four fingered' and all that other stuff is?

When people say like, OH MAN YOU PLAY INDEX, NICE! I have no clue what the hell they are talking about so to clear things up, can you tell me? Thanks!

It means exactly like what it sounds like. Index means you play with your 2 index fingers and 4 fingered is when you play with all 4 fingers.
