WORKING as a stepmania player.. possible?

hello.. recently i have this idea. is it possible to work as a stepmania player?

you know there are those kind of computer fairs every now and then. yea so when there's such a fair, stepmania players could probably work as a SPECIAL PROMOTER for those LCD companies, such as samsung or sth.

firstly, most normal human would be amazed by the sheer speed and chaos. so they will stand there to watch the SM player play his game. secondly, SM players can also demostrate the RESPONES TIME of their LCD. see whether there's a ghosting effect or not. so its like killing 2 birds with one stone.

so its actually something like a crowd drawer. you play at the booth, people stand there to watch u play, then the promoters advertise to those people.

can help the LCD company earn more money.

i was wondering if this idea is feasible. or maybe you think its craP? thanks.

haha nima is overkill. a normal human will get amazed by a average SM player already.. say FC quasar 1.5 or sth.

Most normal humans are impressed if you can do standard level DDR songs on foot.

However, most people also think that having any sort of skill at SM at all means you're a lifeless nerd, which we all know is only half true. If we got Nima in a booth getting paid to play SM and had a crowd of people watching, yeah, they'd be impressed, but they'd all walk away talking about what a lifeless nerd Nima is. I can imagine it now...

People: "And seriously, who calls themselves Nima?! What a ***!"

There was a topic a while ago on AO.com about 2 guys that got paid for demonstrating ITG ... He and his friend went to the mall every day, playing ITG for free all day long, then got money. That's just... awesome

For SM, I don't think that'll work... Its basically a copy of the "real" game: DDR.

And the secret to impress people is: FC ! Doesnt matter how much greats u get, it's that number that impresses them. Especially when it passes 1000 ^^

That's absolutely true. When I play to impress people I pick songs that appear hard, have lots of voltage and stream, but that aren't really. Nobody cares if I get all greats as long as I have a huge combo.

Eggman's OML and Quasar 1.5 probably the best impress (or unimpress depending on your point of view) simfiles if you can FC them. After all, everyone who hasn't played stepmania but has heard of it probably thinks arch0wl is the top player just because his video has gotten the most attention and is very visually impressive.

This whole topic is about something that is never going to happen, because it's pretty much asking for money, when in reality, you'd be the one paying them the money to watch you. Even if it were Nima, people would still be the same way; they wouldn't care enough.

Most companies probably wouldn't allow it anyway, because you don't have rights to the songs you play.

i was wondering about that too. just stepmania is enough alreayd. i imean, although its a free program, but can use it for commercial purpose?

My friends are impressed by secret zombie room. They have nooo idea what's goin on when I play silence, they just laugh uncontrollably.
