    A jump between difficulties? O_O

is it me, or is the difference in how hard the average 9 foot song is and the average 10 foot song is really big? I mean, I can get B's - AA's on most of the 9 foot songs I have and then I go and try some 10 footers and then I can barely even pass half of em >_< Am I crazy or do others notice this?

Edit: or is this how its supposed to be o.o

It all depends on the file, and the maker of the file. I've seen a lot of files where the maker didn't think that they were hard at all, they put the diff. level lower than most would think it was and then people would complain. The biggest problem with people not putting the correct difficulty is people just leaving songs at 1 foot(while they are still challenging songs)

Well, a lot of simfile artists just don't write 9-foot songs, so the ones you have are probably Konami originals, which are pad steps. Most people don't write 9-foot keyboard, they write 9-foot pad, but 10-footers can be keyboard steps or pad steps, which is why they're a lot harder.

Also, a lot of people just give their songs bad foot ratings. For example, I have a stepfile of AAA by 2kM and I cannot pass it, and it says it's 10 foot, whereas, say, Reach's Halloween is 12 foot but I can B it. (Yeah, yeah, I'm not that good.)

You want easy 10-footers, you play Sakura or Bag from the original DDR games. MaxX Wipeout on heavy isn't very hard either.

Also artist would like to have there songs reconized/stick out form the rest. They put the level for heavy at least a 10-footer because that's what turns the text red.

No, actually artists do make harder difficulties because making easy ones are boring.
