Re: Quick question
Wow, definitely worth responding timedistort!
Anyway, there are three major values in o2jam:
exp
gems
e-points
exp is by far the least useful. You gain exp by doing well on songs-- the better you do and the higher the difficulty, the more exp you get. exp only allows you to level up, which has no real beneficial effects.
Gems are moderately useful. You gain gems by doing well on songs-- the only difference in exp versus gems is that exp favors accuracy and gems favors in-game score. An average player earns between 100-250 gems per song (with 200+ being for more advanced players). Gems can be used to buy avatar equipment, like clothes, accessories and musical instruments. There are also about a dozen songs that can only be purchased with gems.
e-points are by far the most useful-- and the hardest to get. e-points are equivalent to real cash, with the conversion rate of about $3/100ep (depends if you buy in bulk). e-points allow you instantly to buy ep-only avatar equipment, and, more importantly, ep-only songs.
You cannot play pay songs, regardless of whether they cost gems or ep, in o2jam until you have purchased them, even if you have them downloaded on your computer.
The avatar equipment, unlike gunbound, do not improve anything about your character besides the ability to give your character a unique look. Therefore, most people end up spending their gems on the avatar equipment, which, once you buy all the gem songs, are the only purpose of gems. e-Points are used primarily to buy ep-only songs and also to allow players who do not want to wait and acculumate gems to buy clothing (which can take a while).Comment
