    Ah, disappointment

So I was investigating the Toasty easter egg, and I changed StepMania.ini to give me a ridiculously large marvelous timing window (so I could hit every step marvelous, even if I was literally 2 seconds off.)

I quit the game. cut to 11:00 PM, when chardish feels like he needs a few stages of stepmania before he goes to sleep. I load up Tsugaru, and am amazed at how freaking good I'm doing! 88 marvelouses in a row, i'm on a roll! After about 150 arrows I hit one that's WAY off....it was obviously a good, probably a boo.....then I think "there's no way I should have gotten that one." I just pound the arrow keys a few times and bam! there goes the next 20 or so steps, all marvelous. And I recall my experiments earlier that day. Cue disappointment.

Yeah, I be getting better. But AAAAing a song? I'm not quite there yet

I got that "toasty" thing or whatever when I was playing on the endless mode, I had gotten about 9 songs into it, wasn't doing that great but I had a 200 something combo when that thing appeared...so I don't think you have to get a bunch of marvelous's or AAAA a song...

I got a picture of the little bugger bugger! Ok, I think I know how to get it too, first off you have to get a really big combo (mine at the time was 700 something, lol) then you have to lose it by missing an arrow. Then it'll pop out and say toasty yeah. Funny story, I was looking for the Prt Scr button when I looked away and missed one during Waka Laka. Luckily, I already had my finger on the button before it disappeared...

It depends on which version of stepmania you are running. On my old 3.0 final version, it appeared after 150 straight perfects. In my new CVS, it appears after 250 straight marvelouses/perfects.

Where in the ini file do you change the timings?

I never even found the file...

          Signature subject to change.

The character in the pic = Charmy from DDR 5thMix

The best SM "Toasty!" character = DDR Man!

You have to get so many perfects/marvelouses in a row and the character pops out. It sucks when it does that cause it usually throws me off.

You trusted it in the first place? A lot of people cheat -_- There are a TON of good players out there though.

Personally, I don't even mess with the marvelous timing. If I'm going to AAA or AAAA a song, I want to deserve it.
                  Don\'t think cause I understand, I care.
