SM song creation help

i wanna make my step file in the SM editer...so i set up my DWI with the title artist BPM and so on...i go to the editor and press 'R' to record my arrows...but the song ends after 1 beat...the song starts at beat 0.00 and ends at 1.00, how can i change when the song ends, because the mp3 is about 3 minutes long

Record is retarded. Press 1, 2, 3, or 4 for the arrows. The more arrows you add, the later the DWI will end, progressively.

yeah i know you can do it like that but i find record much easier...and also if i do add more arrows by pressing 1234 the song doesnt end any later, and it deletes all the notes after 1.00

by the way what do you think the BPM is for beverly hills cop...160? 170?

*EDIT* ok i got the creator to work, but now when i go to play the song in SM, it still ends on beat 1.00 even though the song ends at 126.00, in my creator...what do you think

Try reinstalling Stepmania. If that doesn't work, try getting a new MP3 and remaking the stepfile. If that doesn't work, um, pray?

i got it working for good i think...song should be ready in less than a week, i need to make it much harder...but what do you think the BPM is

Look around for a program called WinBPM. It'll tell you the BPM of any song.

yeah i got it and it says the bpm is around 120, but i finished the song and dwi with a bpm of 170...so if i reduce the bpm the song is all screwed up...anyways i finished it, but i need to make it much harder, as i said before...it starts easy and then gets progressively harder 'til the end where there are 16th note jumps, which i think are 'doable', anyways look for the zip file within a few days...ill try to make more challenging for the better players

Lol i can't even get my song into the edit mode. help on that please? xD I remember doing it like a year ago but I forgot how and the instructions confuse me when I'm drunk @_@
