DWI doesn't detect my pad

I just got my USB adaptor and my DDR pad...

DWI let's me configure the buttons, the circle square triangle and X... bt it won't let me set anything to the up down left right arrows.

Did anybody get their pad working with DWI?

Windows says i have a 12 button 4 axes "gamepad"

I got stepmania to pick up on the arrows... what's up with DWI?

Also... On my laptop... even in stepmania the responses are lagged or sometimes completely unresponsive.... yet windows is giving me good responses in the gamepad settings.

On my 1.2 laptop, does anybody know how to improve performance so that th responses are playable?

I have the instinct pad... maybe there is a better driver for me to use than what windows uses?

ok now i think i figured it out

my usb adaptor doesn't use "buttons" for up down right left instead it uses the x and y axis... by using the axis instead of buttons... i think this makes it incompatible with dance mat's...

still, is there a wierd fix for this, or should i just get a new usb adaptor that's recommended by www.stepmania.com

And remember to set the left arrow on the pad to hit the left arrow, right to right, etc.
