i saw the stikied post how to get songs onto step mania but it didn't work for me and im wondering is it different to get songs onto step mania on a macintosh compared to how you do it on windows?

It's extremely easy. Just go to Stepmania's website or another related website, and download the most recent version for OS X.
Then, download some Sim Files from wherever, create a folder inside the "Songs" folder in the StepMania folder, and put the whole folder that is unzipped from the zip file in the folder that you made. Then, just play the game and it will load! Good luck.
