wut programs?

hey guys i just recently started playin with a music program (fruity loops) and im doin fairly good at it...then when i started playin dwi again i thought about it,a nd want to make my own files for it...

so my question: how would i setup a sequence of steps for music i create? wut would i need? links are appriciated.
