so... wtf is up with rc2a?

All my songs are there... but it won't load them. It just opens the catalog.xml or whatever and the cuts straight to the game.

    Any help?

a friend sent me his old install file for 20... so I'm going to use that for now.

But I do wonder why rc2 didn't work for me.

            This was my solution....

I had the same problem, but solved it quickly. The "problem" with rc2a is that the game installs on a slightly different folder name. You may want to go to your program files directory or whatever equivalent to check for 2 different stepmania folders. For me, it was Stepmania CVS (old one) and StepMania (rc20). To fix, just move your songs into the new stepmania folder where it should be. Problem *should be* solved. Hope this helps.

Dude, this has been answered, and dead for awhile. Don't bring up really dead topics.

Okay, but since it's alive now, may I ask what's so good with a23? The changelog for a24 is:

Fixed music sample not starting when a song is selected quickly.
                      Fixed swapped NG/OK scoring.
                      Fixed double-width slash character.
                      Fixed loading half-doubles from KSFs.
Fixed legacy songs not finishing with the song background.
Fixed character rendering artifacts when a freeze segment lies on beat 0.
Fixed screen overlay graphics not being reloaded on theme change.
                      Fixed joystick mapping problems.
                      Windows: DirectSound underrun fixes.
Windows: Fixed refresh rate setting in D3D.
Windows: Fixed crash when fullscreen D3D window loses focus.
Windows: Use OpenGL for Intel 82845G.
Linux: Fixed GTK window not being centered.
                      Added OSC3 Red Sun translit.
Player 2 Back button now defaults to NumLock instead of Insert.
More options are saved to the profile.
I fail to see how any of these make StepMania worse ... so what did?
