problem with stepmania (i hope)

okay.
im playing stepmania with my Red Octane Ignition Pad (get one now!) (btw its brand-new incase thats a problem).
but whenever i play i always get misses on the 1/4 beat right arrows and up arrows.
anyone know if its a problem with stepmania, my pad, my USB convertor ( also Red Octane), or some stupid configs that im not really good at doing

hit up + start + select for three seconds before entering sm, then go into key config and reconfig your pad buttons. This problem is caused by your converter.
