Ok, don't count me off as a newb, I know how to make stepfiles, and I read the thing here on how to make them, but DANG IT'S COMPLICATED!!!!! And I just don't have that type of time. So does anybody know where I can get a program to make the simlies that dosn't force make to type it out in a text document?

no, I would like to MAKE them, stepmania is a program to play them. And just to make sure I didn't sound nooby, I browsed all corners of the site for a development program and I couldn't find one. Thanks anyway...

you still sound n00by. use stepmania... instead of playing.. scroll down to Edit/Sync. you make stepfiles there.RIPComment

hmm, I thought about that but then I thought that it wouldn't recognize the file unless there was a stepfile associated with it. So now I'm gonna go try that, thanks 4 the help. I'll post again if it dosn't work, but if you feel like it then lock this I think it's done.

You need a .dwi file. Make it in Notepad - to save it, select "All Files" and put .dwi into the file name manually.

Try downloading XStep, works for me. I make simfiles all the time, but I don't release them (thinkin' about it =), I have a joke sim foscused around an 80's song)
I THINK thats what you mean by make.... you need the mp3 though (WinMX) , and Winamp to find the rouge BPM (or Mixmeister, but its only a free trial). If you have enough space on your compy, I'd recomend doing this. If not, ignore this reply and yell at me...

yeah, I already have firefox, and no, the simfiles don't work with it. oh and Piroteknix, I tried Xstep and I don't like it, I think I'll just stick to stepmania. Is there ANY way to import the banner for a song into stepmania? (the banner is the picture that shows up on the song selection screen, in case anybody's confused lol)
