SM Oni Competition = Suggestions? Comments? Concerns?

Okay, wow. I posted an idea for an oni competition and it looked like a lot of people were interested in it. Thing is that only one person competed in it (and won) once I got it up and running. So I'm wondering what exactly went wrong?
I read through all the posts and it seemed that these were the main concerns:

- Someone said there was a video which caused them problems
- Some of the songs aren't on the original mixes
- Drunk and Dizzy.
- Stupid shitty songs
- The file couldn't be found on the site

Let me apoligize for that last one. Geocities deleted the file because it was getting too many downloads. I was gone all weekend so I wasn't aware of that. If there is a second competition, it will either be posted on ffr or I'll start some e-mail thing.

My question is should there be another competition? Maybe a different way of doing this? Maybe courses with Original stepfiles? Maybe sign up via e-mail and have the course e-mailed to you or something? Or just completely forget about this idea?

Suggestions anyone?

I think the problem was definitely the official songs. Another thing is the suggested download site was ddruk, and pretty much all UK servers are pretty slow. I'm thinking maybe Reach got BGAnimations with his songs? That's not a problem, just delete it, but I think he thought the video was with the course.. but that's just the most reasonable explanation I could come up with, I guess you'd have to ask him. Drunk and dizzy... I guess nobody felt the need to practice? I figured out the trick to it like the third time I tried it. But it's not that official songs are stupid and shitty - although that may be moogy's take on it - it's just that most of the experienced players don't find a challenge in it, thus not feeling the need to play it. I'll probabaly make meself an AIM name so I can give people with computer problems stuff. But this is a great idea, definitely keep going - although it seems there are many ways to cheat... luckily the fake screenshot probabaly won't be a problem because people are good at sniffing those out, but there's still a load of ways people could cheat. I would say send in a video, but I don't have a camcorder... maybe we could use that frontcam thing? I'll probabaly explore that idea soon. Oh yeah, don't name the week 1 course after me, name it -THE INFAMOUS WEEK 1 COURSE-. Sounds cooler and is more fitting.

We're probably not doing official songs anymore. But we're probably not doing your songs either. Wtf is wrong with you? I will win bullshit. That sucks... YOU HAPPY NOW PEOPLE?! No, really, it's just the people like moogy and privateer that fucked this up. Oh well, maybe I can upload courses to FFR... or maybe not.. Maybe we should just give it up, but damn, such a good idea crumbling at the hands of... people no longer polite to mention, boy, I thought I kinda respected privateer, and I thought moogy was kinda funny.. actually I think that ended before this, but still... this really sucks. I made a Cynic course for week 2 if anyone just wants the course, it's pretty fun.
Suggestions: no.
Comments: I don't think I'm gonna have tolerance for retards anymore.
Concerns: This should have kept going. Everyone said it was a good idea, I just don't think anyone has enough commitment in them to help this keep running.
I don't like official songs either, folks, but did you notice this week was called Trial Run Week? That's a sure sign that if it falls through, the whole thing goes kaput. I played the course because I wanted this week to be at least a slight success, and I'm really disappointed that no one else did the same, with the exception of alextrebek, who couldn't get the course, and reach, who couldn't get the songs. And I guess that's the end.

officals are boring unless their rates are turned up.

That's a perfect case in point of what I was talking about. "I don't like the course, that's why I didn't play it" is a big part of the OniRevolution7 failure. You see, what I would have preferred you to do is play the course, post your score, THEN comment about the course. I'm not trying to pick on you hydro, it's just that your post came just in time for me to give a good example of what I was talking about.

Jenova, I can definitely understand that, but I believe in the rulebook it said you could turn on bar health. Kinda cheap, but at least you could beat the course.
You know what Moogy, I really could care less- oh, wait, no I couldn't. That was a ridiculous post. You're right about my name being stupid, though. I made it a long time ago because you needed to register to get a whole lot more, never knowing I would ever even visit the forums, and I'm too lazy to change it.
