    I need some tech. support.

Ok, I have the stepfile CIA Rave. It didn't come with a Banner or Background image. I made a background image and set it up so there is the MP3, DWI, and Background in the song folder; respectively. I named each file the following, "Cia Rave.mp3", "Cia Rave.dwi", "Cia Rave BG.png". The problem is, when I go to play the song, right when I select it (not even pressing enter, just going over it) there is a runtime error.

    "Runtime Error!

    Program: C:/Program Files/Stepmania CVS/Program/Stepmania.exe

    abnormal program termination"

    What's going on?

Maybe the dwi or mp3 is corrupt. Try opening the mp3 in media player or something like that to see if it plays. Also, open the dwi in notepad and check to make sure it's in proper dwi format. If that doesn't help, I don't know what will.

Try it without the spaces in the file names. Try to open it in the editor too and see if there's any problems in there. Put all the files in a new folder.. Just try out random stuff like that.

Ahh another famous moogy six-or-less word post. So helpful.

Open up all of the .dwi and .sm files in notepad and set the mp3 name to CIA_Rave.mp3 and in the spot that says "#MUSIC:" write (in cases) "CIA_Rave.mp3;" and add the semicolon.

Now, name the banner "CIA_Rave-banner.png" and the bg "CIA_Rave-bg.png" and in the #BANNER: slot name it CIA_Rave-banner.png; remember the cases and the semicolon

          same thing for the bg.

Now, do this for each of the .dwi, and .sm files and save them all. Now start up SM and go to Options and then go to Reload Songs/Courses or whatever and then play your song--it should work.

All of my simfiles are named with spaces and they work just fine. Spaces are not the problem.

I think it's a bug with your alpha. When you sent it to me, it worked fine. When I sent it back, it did not.

Get Alpha 20 or 21 if you don't have it already. I used to have that problem, but the new Alphas have fixed it.
