I have Stepmania 3.9 alpha 20, and around the arrows, I have these white boxes. The white boxes, also show up on some other objects to. I was told it was something about transparency, and to download the newest DirectX, but that didn't work. Anyone else know what to do?

Have you tried alpha 21? That's the one I have and it works OK for me. The alpha 20 version wouldn't even run for me; it crashed as soon as I tried. It may not be listed on the main page, but if you go to the download page you should find it there. I'd say give that a try and see if it helps.
