Personal Records??

On some Stepmania screenshots I see next to #_ Machine Record after a song there is #_ Personal Record. What makes it say that?

Machine Record = Record for that judging scale; i.e., different on Judge 4 than Judge 6

Personal Record = Highest record period, regardless of scale
