Anyone's comp keep shutting down when playing stepmania?

My comp keeps shutting down. It's really bad cause this is a pretty new comp, and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with stepmania cause it only happens when I'm playing that...

Posting your computer specs (i.e. video card, megs of RAM, etc.) may help.

When you say shutting down, does that mean it completely reboots? or Stepmania crashes?

no, the computer just completely shuts down, and i have to press the button to reboot. this usually happens in the middle of a game

OKay well, its one of two things. First go to the bios after it fucks up and check yer CPU temperature. Also it could be a virus that's triggerd by a certain file. I had it with Battlefield 1942, and my computer is very good. If it doesnt happen during any other games, try taking off the side of case, or putting a fbig fan to it. If that doenst work, reformat.

Unless your cpu came with a thermometer in it, I doubt you will find the cpu temperature..

Yeah, download spyware and virus removal. Do scans..this may fix the computer. Also I would recommend getting a firewall.

Most new comps have thermometers. If not, then if u take teh side off you'd definatly know immediatly if it overheated.

It could also be your video card glitching, it happens to me alot when I play Stepmania on Window Mode.

It also happens when I play Ragnarok Online Full Screen.

If you are not using the arrow keys, you might be, wich I used to do XD, hitting the windows key with you pinky, or something, and then hitting a shortcut key..

well it had no way of overheating cause most of time playing stepmania would be the first thing i'd do. yeah i play with the keyboard. i have adaware, but no virus protection (not very smart, i know)

I was asking if you play with the arrow keys or letters because if you play with some letter keys you could be accidentally hitting the windows key and then a shortcut letter key to turn you computer off.. I've done that before..
