    hey all,

i was thinking about maybe trying out stepmania 5 (as opposed to 3.95 which ive used since i started played this game back in 2004ish). is there anything i should know about setting it up or any big differences from 3.95?

    thanks guys

theres a new version coming out soon but this will do until then
is expressing my inability to create a creative signature an act of creativity in and of itself?

vanilla SM5 out of the box (unless they changed the theme or something) will destroy your scores/timing. was never confirmed by devs afaik but seems to be reported by the majority of players, from my estimation.

at least pick up the Ultralight theme somewhere if it's still compatible with the newest builds. to do better than that (I assume I haven't actually played in over a year oops), do what walrusizer said.

can you adjust the offset in game by less than .02

honestly this is the only reason i was considering it, it pisses me off to no end that I can't adjust it by factors of .01 or even .005 in game when something is a bit offsync due to offset

I'm sure there's a way to fix that in metrics, but maybe not conveniently in-game.

actually nvm you can hold alt to increment or decrement by 0.01 iirc. I remember doing it in the editor.

Are you talking about judge offset? You can hold F3 and then press Y and U to manually adjust it

If you mean like, the actual song offset (as in like global offset in FFR), then the best way to get more specific would probably be to open it in DDReam or arrow vortex or something.
