idk I just had this idea for a thread where people could share some not very well known things about anything and everything SM related. basically a whole "did you know?" concept, which could lead to some amusing stories.

· There was originally a Dark Chancellors Pack 2 started but it died due to inactivity and having ridiculous quality control. The files in the pack were then merged with a failed FFR Community Pack 3 started and lead by Puppet and NPV, which also met the same demise for the exact same reasons as DCP2. About half the files were picked up and then merged with Xoon 5, the latter half either being released in other packs or eternally lost in the abyss.

· Xoon 4 was originally going to be one massive pack before Kommisar got the idea to split the pack into the respective Red and Blue versions.

· In the pack, Xoon 5, the wrong version of Magun was released due to Rebirth not knowing that Kil posted an updated chart for it. The V2 edit of the file included a few pattern changes and an actual layered ending as opposed to the released version which ends abruptly.

· Light Chancellors Pack 1 was created when Rebirth scrapped and rejected already accepted or borderline accepted files for Xoon 5. LCP1 is essentially a Xoon 5 rejects pack compiled with newer submitted files.

· Light Chancellors Pack 1 and 2 involved a panel of judges, meanwhile the 3rd and final installment was run solely by me. The sudden shift was due to countless pack delays caused by inactive judges and little work being done to progress LCP3. After doing all the administrative/organizational work and judging independently, I stuck with the concept for the FFR Season packs.

· The joke version of Light Chancellors Pack 3 that Kommisar released was compiled together last minute the day before April 1, 2011. Even though I was organizing everything to do with the real pack, I had absolutely no idea what files he was going to use in the joke release, lol.

· For the Xiao Solo Beginner Pack series, Xiao was originally going to release a total of 6 packs, each of them having a certain gimmick to the charts. If you noticed, the charts in XSBP3 are very chord-focused, and this is due to the fact that the subsequent packs were going to be hold-focused, stream-focused, and lastly all three in combination respectively. This idea was scrapped due to lack of motivation and laziness, making XSBP3 the final release in the series.

· Xiao released the pack, BCMP AIDS, with the thread title, "[6k] Xiao Solo Beginner Pack IV".

StepMania Factoid #1346: Blurk made a re-step of Reach's Gigadelic and affectionately named it 'bajsorump' which meant shitass or something in Swedish icr. It was essentially the same file but many of the freezes were removed to make the ending easier to read. Alas I deleted it though

SMGroove Pack 3 was the tentative title for Dark Chancellors Pack before we settled on a name.

In DCP, Kil's Bedtime Story had a V1 playable by the judges and was the best stepmania file ever created. Unfortunately, he replaced it with a V2 that sucked. This V1 is what inspired the Stepmania theory "Bedtime Story Theory" coined by Puppet and I, where steps follow accentuated sounds rather than background 16th hi-hats.

· Xoon 3 is just a compilation of all three Xoon Minipacks.

· Xoon Drama Pack 1 is the result of some argument that took place on Bluexoon involving Roar, moches, and some other people. It had something to do with what was the objectively correct way to make a simfile and what people found fun in a chart is all I can remember. Hence the banner for the pack: http://puu.sh/9pbWt.png

· cetaka made a quick V2 edit of his Airhand chart, in which he only posted once a long time ago on #gaym (irc games room). Basically his reasoning was something along the lines of, "I got rid of the really gay patterns".

· ~Stepmania Finale~ in Xoon 4 Blue Version was supposed to be Kommisar's last file ever stepped. At the time, he was taking a chef course located right beside the ocean near Halifax for a full year where he had terrible internet. He created the alias Rin-Dude and started making files on his laptop in his down time.

· midare PM'd me on KeyBeat (lol) a long time ago asking if I could step an actual file for his OP from midare megapack 2. I never got around to it.

· The majority of Dimentio files were stepped by Kommisar. The email was shared between certain individuals, but the only ones that actually used the alias were:
Kil (Blind Justice in Xoon 4 Blue Version)
moches (Mugen in Xoon 4 Red Version)
Detrimentalist (that witch file in Mystery Pack 3)
Myself (Love Magic in one of Rebound's packs can't remember which one)

· Dark Chancellors Pack is just Red Fraction Pack 2 rehashed after Rebirth didn't do anything to finalize the original pack. Jimerax and others basically picked up the pack and released it without notifying him and Rebirth was pissed off and made some long rant post about it. Another tentative name for the pack was SMGroove Pack 3.

· Chancellor was a term coined by Kil (I think?). The entire concept of it was basically StepMania's answer to The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen or some bullshit relating to that.

· The "Dark Chancellors" had a secret forum on Dew's site to organize the second pack, but it died and that forum no longer exists. The last individuals to gain private access to it were Don, WC/WV, moches, and I.

does anybody still have that v1? i heard a lot of people say his Bedtime Story file was really good but the one i played (the v2 i assume) i didn't think was very good

Choofers and I were hired as the last two Red Fraction Pack judges with 0 credible simfiles to back our experience. Thanks to this pack, we both developed our own styles and got better.


During VGMP2's era, Tsuka had a text file made that was shared only within simfile artists. It was called the simfile creation bible. It was a list of all the theories used by various simfile artists from aperson to glove. I was given this bible and a song to step to gain entry into VGMP3's secret forum on ODI. That file is What U Need in Dark Chancellors Pack.

Video Game Pad Pack 2 was in the making for a few weeks with help from R21freak users, but died due to inactivity and no MacGravel to lead the project.
