Quick dumb question about backgrounds

I'm using SM5 with the Ultralight theme. I'm slowly making my way through AA'ing all of the Novice songs in the FFR Community Pack Novice Files Compilation, and I came across one song entitled Futari no Manifest (Circle of the Afternoon MIX).

This song has some really weird moving pictures in the background that come up at very distracting times and drive me nuts. Is there any way to keep the static background that comes with the song, but disable all moving images/video in the background entirely for all songs?

A lot of us SM players disable bgs and videos on songs by blacking out our screen. I only know how to do this for SM 3.9 and SM 3.95 unfortunately :/

You can manually delete extra background files you don't want (.avi videos, bg2.png, etcetcetc - stuff that isn't the original background). I don't know of other ways since I keep my bg brightness at 0%.

On the main menu go to options, then Appearance Options, and change the Brightness setting to a lower value to make the background less annoying or completely off if you want.
