Stepmania Annotated is a new long-term project that aims to be an educational resource for stepauthors and players and a foundation for the academic study and discussion of Stepmania. Community members can upload their stepcharts to a YouTube channel and annotate their own files. In the future, I plan to integrate this project into a broader study of rhythm games, specifically by collaborating with The Playful Learning Database and working to start an annual Rhythm Gaming Convention (lofty plans, I know, but let's dream big!)
RULES FOR UPLOADING VIDEOS:
1. If you are interested in contributing to the database, please contact me at [email protected] so I can send you account info. Do not under any circumstances share this information with others - this is to protect the security of the account.
2. All videos MUST be on autoplay with the stepchart on the LEFT side of the screen.
3. When uploading videos, follow these guidelines:
TITLE: Stepmania Annotated - (username) stepfile
DESCRIPTION:
Song: song title
Artist: song author
Stepauthor: username
Stepped: year (packs, if included in any - otherwise write Single)
Offer a brief paragraph about the background/conception of the file.
TAGS: song author, username, Stepmania Annotated
4. See this how-to on YouTube annotations and follow the instructions for your video. Annotations must be in font size 13 and go on the right.
5. Until you have finished annotating your video, set the Privacy Settings to Private.
