idea: Stepmania annotated

since I now have a working computer screen recorder and everything is wonderful, I just had a weird idea:

it would be baller if stepartists could record their own files and upload 'em to Youtube...with annotations (since Youtube supports that) of how they stepped it, why they made the choices they did, and fun tidbits regarding the creation process. would be so much fun to read over everybody's thoughts in that fashion, and I imagine it'd make a great resource for new stepartists, too.

I'll make an AnnotatedStepmania account later if people think this is a good idea. what do y'all say?

Shame that some of my replay videos are old, though. I'll get around to recording them again since nearly all my previews have been revised.

what software do you all use to record?

Fraps. Requires a decent PC to record @ 60fps without being choppy. Files will generally end up over 1GB+. Compress with VirtualDub or Windows Movie Maker 2.6.

pick up OBS, it's much more lightweight than Fraps, and much more customizable. It's used for streaming, but you can also record to file
