    I remember reading that several SM related forums (including the main forum, but not the site) were hacked back in 2007-ish, is this the first time the whole site has been taken down?

                            well the site is back up now but the front page is missing a lot. atleast we can tread peacefully knowing the hack isn't there, for now.

                                    This was from 21 hours ago on the sm-ssc Facebook page:

                                    PSA: StepMania.com is down.

                                    Sometime this morning an attacker used a 0day in vBulletin to gain admin access and delete/deface large portions of the site. As far as I'm aware nothing would have exposed password-related info, but emails are viewable from there.

                                    I took down the affected areas of the site (which includes just about everything - since there's vB integration all over the place), so things are under control, but quite a lot of damage has been done and I'm trying to get this handed to the right person. Sorry for any trouble this causes.
