alt+tab makes SM5 (and ssc) weird

Okay, here's a little issue I've been having to deal with for a while now. I play Stepmania full screen. Not by choice: I have to, otherwise I have to play in 640x480 windowed and that's just too goddamned small (probably my laptop; she's nearly 7 years old now and still running XP). So when I'm playing SM and I want to alt+tab to my browser or to search around for something in explorer, when I alt+tab back into SM5(or ssc), for some reason, the centering just goes completely bonkers and moves the screen down, causing the bottom to get cut off and a black area to form at the top of the screen. I also get mad lag and the program gets all derpy, jumping to less than 60frames. It gets worse the more I switch back in and out. SM3.9 does not give me these issues, so I'm wondering what's up. I know 3.9 and 5 are very different but this issue is really what stops me from using SM5, as I need the alt+tab ability since I'm a multitasker.

And I just discovered ultralight to replace the default theme since I can't read the scrolling notes well due to the timing and combo placement with how fast a scrolling speed I use (I jump between c800 and c950). It looks sexy. And runs very well. <3

And no, I can't just 'go out and buy a new laptop.' Costs money and money is not what I have a lot of to spend. =(

I can alt+tab out of it fine with no problems.

You could try doing alt + enter twice and see if that works when it's giving you problems.

replace the sm version, not the pc

sm requires a decent pc to play well, if you have a shit laptop (like me xd), there is no hope4u

sm5 is still in beta and is more bloated than 3.9. not really surprised you are having trouble running it. you're probably going to have to stick with 3.9 like choofers said.

I'll try doing that first just to experiment, stickly.

I figured I'd have to continue using 3.9. Well, not like I have a problem with it anyway, since it does load my songs faster. lol

It's not as much trouble running SM5 as my computer has trouble running any game in windowed mode (including PSO PC version if I increase the resolution too much xD). Either way, back to 3.9 I goooooo!

I have the same issue with SM5 if I try using a smaller resolution than what matches what is native to my monitor. So basically yeah if your comp can't handle running SM5 at full resolution then you should probably use 3.9

Well, I can't even play 3.9 at my native resolution of 1280x800. xD I usually play 800x600. But at least I'm not the only one who has that issue. lol

I have this problem and my laptop is at least decent. It really pisses me off. I use 640x480, is this resolution problem or?... I can play windowed but I wouldn't like to.
