Help..?

I keep trying to open StepMania (I have 3.9), and this error appears and says:

The folder 'Songs/My Creations' contains music files.

This means that you have a music outside of a song folder.
All song folders must reside in a group folder. For example, 'Songs/DDR 4th Mix/B4U'.

I don't know what's wrong, because I don't have a folder called "My Creations".
Help?

you have to check in your appdata stepmania folder

C:\Users\YOUR USER GOES HERE THIS IS NOT A DIRECT LINK PUT YOUR USER HERE!\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\StepMania\Songs\My Creations

Don't worry; everyone one of us has faced that error once. I'll try to remind myself why it happens though, it HAS been a while :P

In general, I believe it occurs when you have your song directly inside your "Songs" folder (which is itself inside the "Stepmania" folder). In other words, when you open your "Songs" folder, you can directly see the song.

What it should look like, however, is this:



1 folder per song inside each category inside the song folder (in this case, the song would be Aha!)

I do not have a song directly inside of my Songs folder.

Do you mind taking a screenshot to compare how it looks like next to mine, then? I don't know what causes this problem you have.

The problem was fixed a couple of weeks ago~!

Inside of your stepmania.ini do you have anything after these two lines?

[Options]
AdditionalFolders=
AdditionalSongFolders=

It might be reading a song folder that you aren't entirely aware of.
