    Cutoff Question

I was farting around on SM and made a stepfile for The Legend of Max out of boredom.
It went fine and all in the editor, but when i finished it and played it in the actually game mode, after i completed the song, it just went on.. No music or notes, just background. This happens for about a minute or two before it goes to the statistics.

Is there any way to fix this?

I checked the song length in audacity and it corresponded with the editor's counter, as well as checked far past the song to see if there were any bpm changes or anything like that.. But nothing

    Thanks!

    Sticks on this screen v

    Re: Cutoff Question

The length of the song doesn't have anything to do with it. It's totally about the simfile.
Open the .sm file, with a text software (aka open it like a text file, with notepad, or whatever works), and go to the end of the text.
If you have lines and lines of
    "0000
    0000
    0000"
(with probably the number of the measures going on) then erase them till you get to lines where there are other numbers in it ("1" for a regular note, "2" for the beginning of a freeze note "3" for the end of a freeze note and "4" for the beginning of a roll note)

If, when opened, there isn't any of it, change the name of the folder the song is in (or the name of the folder in which your folder is in, whatever), if it is "The Legend of Max", just change a character or something
"TheLegend of Max" "The.Legend of Max" etc

Once you followed this, tell me if the problem persists.

        Re: Cutoff Question

Normally, that should do the trick, Stepmania has the tendency to keep in memory the longest length of the file and stay on the same screen till the memory considers you didn't put further note for this in the past.
It also does this when there is a chart in the file that goes longer than the chart you're using, as it is "waiting" for it to finish before getting to the score screen.

That's a problem which is hard to explain but everytime I faced it, following these two steps fixed my problem.

Since that guy didn't posted again to complain again, I guess his problem have been fixed.
And yeah it's why I only play 3.9 with a proper 4:3 windowed resolution
