Rhythm and Police... 420?! No way XD

Rhythm and Police has 420 steps. I just noticed this.
Do you think it's intentional by Konami?

For those who don't follow, 420 is the number that is often associated with marijuana, often celebrated on April 20th (4/20). From my understanding, this number was chosen because it's the number that the police use to associate with some sort of criminal charge related to the drug.

Now you should see why I find this funny :P

Coincidence that the song about police has 420 steps? Coincidence that, if you listen to the lyrics, it says:

        "So...
Let's leave a little bit of change
        The tramps can fear us
Stay boarded up in their special caves
Just how far are they gonna stay sane
        Cut the drugs, uh!"

That seems a little more than coincidence :P

Konami has done other tricks with combos before, such as 573,000 being the default highscore, and 573 being the max combo of Max 300 and Legend of Max, which under traditional Japanese script, is pronounced "Go nana mittsu", loosely translated to 「コナミ」 (Konami)

You still need more proof though. I still don't think there is a correlation between the two.

I'm not operating under the rules of discrete mathematics and propositional logic; it's not my intent to prove once and for all that this is a fact.

It just seems like the stepchart author had a little fun :P
I believe it to be intentional.

I still don't thinks so. I guess the only way to find out is ask the step artists.

you could look at how 'forced' the chart feels to have a guess at how much the chart might have been changed up to arrive on 420 steps?

e: like how EHHS v1 has weird breaks and stuff so it doesn't go over 1337 steps

The steps don't seem forced at all, they're very predictable.

To give evidence that counters my theory, it only adds up to 420 if you count jumps as 1 combo, however jumps in DDR counted as 2 combo at the time the song was released.

Still 420 beats with notes on it, though the combo doesn't add up.

I thought it was released during fourth mix plus. Weren't jump combos still 1?

Max 300 and Legend of Max both have a total count of 573 steps. Konami's number. Neither chart seems to be forced.

573 steps if you count a jump as 2 steps. If you play Max300 on supernova for exemple, there is 555 steps (555 combo also).

And i thing TLOM is a bit forced, or if it's not, why they done this ****ty stepchart ?

I don't know for Rhythm and Police. But in my opinion, it's coincidence. (I didn't know what was 420 before this tread.)
