    Using Weights to Train

    Hi,

I made a guide to help users with using weights to increase endurance and speed at DDR/ITG/PIU (ok PIU wasn't mentioned, but still applies)

    Using Weights to Improve

I also use a training method that works with the weight regimen to beat 10 footers (or to improve overall).

Let me know what you think!

That's actually really interesting, my brother tried it once and he says it really helps. Good job.

            Re: Using Weights to Train

A lot of expert players swear by this method, but you really gotta moderate your use. Try to be careful and not get injured!

I'm glad you guys like the guide.

I'll include links to different kinds of weights if it helps. I tried to find an inexpensive, yet sturdy example (which is what is there now).

Some other notes... if you try something like max 300 with weights on before getting used to them, you will notice that you won't transition right and you probably will fail, so I really mean it when you gotta ease into the training.

This definitely might help for me because I need to pass 11s and 12s. =D

OK, to ease away from generalities, a lot of expert players that I know swear by this method.

AAing 10s - I would say that's probably my mark.

E.g. Max 300, Maxx U. LOM, SMMM, SMMMO, Xepher Oni, (etc.)

I use leg weights on 12s/13s with lots of runs. Then when I remove them, I can move a bit faster. In fact, sometimes I overshoot the speed of the runs (this happened to me on Pandemonium XD).

                          Re: Using Weights to Train

Honestly the only thing that leg weights should be used for is gaining comfort when streaming at high speeds.

If your main goals are passing 10's or 11's/12's/etc., then you should probably focus on your technique before trying something like this. Foot speed really isnt much of an issue when considering such goals.

After mastering those songs and want to stream at like 180 bpm really comfortably then mabye consider leg weights.

                          Just my two cents though...

I think you have a good point.

If you hit a brick wall in terms of your limits, leg weights work well to get past that brick wall though.
